Adèle Flamand-Browne

2019 TSF Grant Recipient

Adèle Flamand-Browne is a Connecticut-based artist who has recently received her BFA at Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts, a College of the University of New Haven. She is dedicated to the practice of drawing, and continuously explores the significance of line and tone through charcoal. Her choice of schooling at a figurative-based fine art academy has provoked her fascination with one of her primary subjects, the figure.

Since attending LACFA, Adèle has participated in exhibitions within and outside the college, including during a study abroad semester where her work was included in a group show in Italy. This intensive semester abroad granted her the ability to explore connections to her familiar home environment and experiment with its impact on her past and current work. Academic and merit-based scholarships from LACFA have allowed her to focus on her studio practices and continue her work outside of the academic year. Adèle continues to seek out and attend master classes and residency programs to further her knowledge in drawing based media.
